Soneni Denise's Story
Life
I am Deputy Director for the Alliance for Quality Education in NYC--a statewide nonprofit. I joined AQE after completing my MS degree in Management at New York University's Robert Wagner School of Public of Service. Prior to joining AQE, I was a communications officer for the Wallace Foundation working on national education and community initiatives.

1976. I was a journalist for more than 15 years, working first at the Paterson News, N.J. and then at the Bergen Record. I won a N.J. Press Award in the 80s and went on to Florida where I worked as a regional reporter for Knight Ridder's Tallahassee Democrat.
I returned to NYC to marry and worked at Crain's NY Business as a senior copy editor; later a press secrectary for a U.S. Congressman and for a NY City Comptroller. Dave, Sara and I live in Park Slope, Brooklyn. Sara is a sophmore at Smith College (Sorry, we tried). Spelman didn't have lacrosse. My new project is to learn to play golf.
